WHO THEY ARE

After coming to America at the age of nine, John Medeiros began his storied career in the jewelry district of Providence, RI at 12; working on production lines after school. In 1985, he established Tahoe Jewelry, providing the jewelry industry and prominent designers like Gucci with intricate polishing and stone setting services. Influenced by the skilled and talented artisans of the Renaissance and a vision to produce the highest quality, affordable jewelry, at night he would sketch and conceptualize ideas. The vision became reality with the launch of The John Medeiros Jewelry Collection in 2000. Today, The Collection is one of the few jewelry lines still produced from concept to completion in Rhode Island.

Their success is based on the belief that stylish, high-quality jewelry should be accessible and enjoyed by all women. With hand-carved detailing, Mr. Medeiros implements the same craftsmanship and engineering techniques used in the high end, precious metals jewelry industry. In keeping with our artisanal roots, The Collection can be found in qualified, independent retail stores nationwide.

THE PROJECT (Photo & Video)

The Midlands Group was given a few different tasks for this particular project. Content creation was one of them. We were provided with various boxes of jewelry and a small budget to shoot still work for Medeiros’ social media and website. The small budget created a challenge for us. However we were excited to see just how much we could produce with what we had. Another task we had was to fully Produce, Direct, Shoot and Edit an About Us Video that would live on their site for quite some time. Medeiros had a goal to develop a fresh new look for their Website & Social Media presence. They would do this by using our visuals accompanied by some design changes. After working closely with John and his staff for a few months we had a clear vision of what we wanted to incorporate in the Direction of our About Us Video. Since everything was handmade in Johns Workshop, we really wanted to draw focus to this. The craftsmanship behind each piece was pretty impressive. That being said this project was extremely fulfilling. We wanted to capture all the elements of the construction of this jewelry. After we had a rough shot list and general direction, it was time to write a script. When it came to recording the Voice over we were posed with a major challenge on the client’s side. We were able to get it done piece by piece working with The Medeiros Team. After this we began on the edit and delivered the final product to Medeiros. They were very pleased!
